So, what’s the point of all this reading and meditation anyway?  It seems to go on forever, never ending frustration of trying to get somewhere, but where?  I am not the patient sort, I need to understand the end game.  Don’t tell me “enlightenment”, no one can agree on what that even means, much less how to obtain it.

The problem is we don’t know what we don’t know….

I remember going to my father as a teenager seeking help and direction with a life altering decision.  It was one of those decisions I thought would forever change my life and I needed guidance.  Funny thing is, I don’t even remember what was so important, but I remember the answer he gave me.  “Those are all good choices”, he said, “do whatever you think is right”.  What????  That was the sage advice?  Do whatever you think is right?  Are you kidding me???  In truth, I was afraid to make a decision, I wanted someone else to make it for me.  That way, if it turned out to be the wrong choice, I wouldn’t be to blame.

I was on the edge of the unknown.  I didn’t know which way to go because all choices were unknown.  I didn’t know what I didn’t know.  That’s the double-edged sword of free choice.  It takes a leap of faith, no choice is wrong, just different.  If you don’t like where you land, leap again!

So what’s the point of all this?  I can’t answer that question for you, only you can.  As a Holy Child of All That Is, you have the absolute power of free choice.  You have an infinite number of paths to choose and each one is different.  It all depends on where you want to go.  You have that power.  All I can tell you is that fear will keep you from getting there.

For me, that’s the point of all this.  To understand that there is truly nothing to fear.  Nothing.  You are a being of consciousness that is intertwined and connected with all consciousness, with All That Is.

You have chosen to view this world through a body that appears to be fragile and separate from everything else your body can perceive.  That is a scary place indeed.  However, that is your choice.  If you don’t like it, chose again.  Your choices are endless.

Use all this reading and meditation to realize, to remember that you indeed have a choice.  You may not know what awaits you down the road you choose, but know that you can always choose again.  You can only grow richer in experience with each choice, nothing else.  You cannot be harmed or lost or separated from your True Self.  You cannot fail.  So choose.  Choose the adventure that calls your name.  Then choose another and another all the while knowing there is nothing to fear.

By the way, in my experience, those that are truly “enlightened” don’t use that term because they know that they don’t know what they don’t know.  Head hurt yet?

Now we are doing yoga…
