I read or listen to multiple spiritual posts each week in an attempt to understand the collective mindset of the spiritual community.  I also listen to both right and left wing news shows to try and ferret out the news without political spin.  I am not particularly successful in either endeavor.

All any of us can do is take information as it is presented and test it ourselves.  How do you that?  Our reality has been compared to a big game.  Games have rules and expected behavior as how the games are played.  We all try to behave in a manner that is consistent with the rules of the game, this is what we have been taught and this is what is expected.  Accordingly, to test the accuracy of any information from any source is to test it within the rules of the game.  Right?

Do you remember the 1983 movie “War Games” with Matthew Broderick?  The computer figured it out.  If you test information based on the rules of the game, all you can do is perpetuate the game.  No different than watching a dog chase its tail.  The dog has to realize what is being chased is connected to the body to stop the game.  The dog has to step outside the game to win.

Discerning truth is no different.  Step outside the game.  Only a small part of you is actually in the game anyway.  The largest part of you by far is outside the game, has never been in the game and has no intention of ever playing the game.  It is that part of you that is your True Self.

The only way to win the game of life is to not play.  Yes, you are in this world but that doesn’t mean you must be of it.  To think you are of this world is applying the rules of the game to your very Being.  That does nothing but cheat you of your own magnificence.

You have the ability to discern truth.  Take everything that comes to you to your True Self.  Take it outside the game.  If it rings true, embrace it.  If it does not, see it for what it is and discard it.  Trust your True Self to know truth and to guide you according to that truth.

It is only by stepping outside the game, by refusing to play the game, that you are able to find the truth of your existence.
