A seeker’s journey can be a long one.  For a number of years, Spirit’s typical message to me in meditation was patience.  Sometimes that was the only message: sit down and be patient!  It can be a frustrating journey at best.

I have also experienced times when I feel like I have lost all connection with Spirit.  Typically, those times occur when I am sitting down and being “patient”.  So goes the seeker’s journey….

We are going through unprecedented changes at present.  Healthcare, economics, politics, and technology are all changing at warp speed.  Those changes create fear and confusion as we move into an uncertain future.  To be told to sit down and be patient provides little comfort.

I was in the middle of one of those “disconnect” periods recently.  Meditation felt empty.  I had allowed myself a private pity party.  I was all alone and “no one understood”.  I ultimately decided to confront Spirit in meditation.  I would sit and demand answers.  It didn’t matter how long it would take, I was not going to continue walking through life without Spirit connecting and giving me a better answer than to just sit and be patient.  I demanded a better answer!

After what seemed like hours, that small quiet voice spoke up.  However, it was loud and quite clear.  “Look in the mirror for what you seek”.

Look in the mirror??  I didn’t understand at first.  I had to get past my own impatience and aggravation with the situation.  I had to remove myself from the situation and simply observe.  I had to be in this world but not of this world.  Only then was the message clear.

Everything we seek is in the mirror.  All the answers are within each one of us, if we can only withdraw from the illusion of life and observe.  Our Higher Self, Spirit, Source, God is within.  We are a part of Source just as Source is a part of us, each and every one of us.

It is only when we get caught up in the illusion of life that we become lost.  As with any adventure, there will be times of confusion and fear as we face the uncertainty of what will come next.  That is part of the adventure of life.  That doesn’t mean that Source has abandoned us.  When we are lost, when we are disconnected from Source, it means that we have forgotten the Truth of our being.  We have abandoned Source.

Look in the mirror.  Source is there, waiting for you to remember to observe life as the magnificent eternal being that you are.  Do not allow yourself to get lost in the illusion.  You are not your body.  You are not of this world.  Remember that you are of Source as you walk through this world.

Now we are doing yoga…
