Spiritual awareness, ascension, enlightenment – it is all much easier said than done.  It all sounds so simple, yet we never seem to get there.  Yet another parallel with the mat.  We digress, we stumble, we get disgusted and sometimes want to quit our journey for spiritual awareness. The question is, does that mean we have sinned, have we displeased the old man in the fancy chair in the sky?

When you were learning to ride a bicycle did you ever fall?  I know I did, over and over.  Was that a sin?  Of course not!  You may have cried, you may have hurt, but you didn’t call yourself a sinner, tell yourself that you were going to hell or plead for forgiveness because you were not good enough.  You simply got back on that bike and tried again and again until you quit falling off.

Spiritual life and our quest for awareness is no different.  Just because we stumble or fall doesn’t make us any less deserving.  It just means we are learning how to correctly perceive this world. The wool is being lifted from our eyes.  We are remembering who we truly are.  It takes patience. It takes practice.  It takes intention.  It takes all these things, but spiritual awareness is available to all of us if that is what we truly want.

Today, lets celebrate our falls and our shortcomings.  Each and every bruise means we are that much closer to remembering our True Selves.  Those scars mean we have started our individual journeys Home!  Life is a grand adventure.  Spiritual awareness is the grandest adventure of all!

However, as in any adventure, some knees will be skinned up along the way.  Wear those scars with pride!   They prove that you are indeed deserving.  It is your inheritance.  Claim it, own it.  There is no real shame, no real guilt in this life, only experience.  Everything else is self-imposed.   Experience as many hard knocks as is needed to find your way and always remember that God, herself, is not complete without you.

Set your intention each day and review it each night before you sleep.  Contrast your daily experiences with your intention and embrace the lessons as they are revealed to you.  This is how we learn to control and manifest our lives.  Your experiences are not coincidence; they are the hand of the Universe showing you the way Home.

Now we are doing yoga….
