More often than not, the message of these articles is not what I originally intended and the message ends up being as much for me as it is for anyone else.  This is one such message.

I cannot remember a more polarized and quite frankly viciously divided populous in my lifetime.  We all seem to take the position of “my way or the highway” on virtually everything; politics, climate change, sports, law enforcement, guns, foreign aid, border protection, relationships, etc, etc, etc.  Everyone’s position is the only right one, no negotiation, no compromise, no tolerance.  No compassion or understanding that an opposing thought or position might have merit.  There is little doubt that as a population this is where we find ourselves, the question is how do we change it?

How do we reach out to those on the other end of the spectrum and cultivate tolerance, understanding, compassion?   Should we even try or is it enough to love only those within our circle of understanding?  Those are the easy ones, the ones within our circle.  But how about all those in other circles, the circles that rankle us?  Truth be told, we can’t.  Not until we change.  Not until we find balance.

I know, we all think we are the balanced ones, it’s the other guys that are out of balance.  It’s the other guys that need to stop judging and taking outrageous positions.  And there we go, right back in the standoff.

Am I saying only the other guys are balanced, taking the “right” positions and see the world clearly?  Of course not.  But I am saying that you can’t balance anyone except yourself.  You can’t drop the other guy’s judgments.

The only way to heal the world, the only way to bring ourselves together to work for the good of all is to do it one person at a time.  Guess who that one person is?  Seek balance for yourself.  However it works for you.  As long as your intention is pure, there is no wrong way to do it.  Balance your 7 chakras, or your 12 chakras, or your MerKaBa, or maybe your multiple light bodies that make up your larger Light Body.  Balance the flow of prana within your body or the vortex that connects you to mother earth.  The point is, drop all your little brown sticks, each one not like the other, yet they are all the same.  You know the ones, the lifetime of judgments you have picked up along the way.

How you do it doesn’t matter.  Just do it.  Radiate unconditional Love to all.  No judgment, no conditions.  Change yourself and those around you change.  Remember, we are all connected.  One judgment at a time, one individual at a time.  Pretty soon 2 have changed, then 10, then 100.  In time, the whole world, 1 person at a time.  Not through judgment, not through force, but by simply radiating Love to each other.

History teaches us there is no other way.  Force of any kind has never worked, only mutual respect, tolerance, understanding and compassion.  Not a single time in our history has force brought opposing sides together in a lasting way.  Not one.  On this we can all agree.

Now we are doing yoga….
