Hard to believe this is the 52nd Yoga Dude weekly article. Over the past year we have approached the joining of Spirit and body from multiple angles. In summary on this holiday weekend that marks a new normal for all of us, I offer this simple and absolute truth:
Sit quietly, close your eyes and become aware of your body.
It is not you; you are not your body; it is merely your instrument to experience this material world.
Clear your mind. Focus only on your breath, your being. Allow everything around you to dissolve away as illusion, unimportant. Feel the hum of your body. All of our bodies vibrate or hum with the energy of life, the energy of who we are. We all share this same energy; it connects us and surrounds us all. Once you are attuned to it, you can feel it all around you like thick plasma. We are beings of light or energy. This is who we are.
We are One and merely experience ourselves as individuals in this world. This is why we experience the pain of others, why laughter is infectious and why we “feel” the presence of some individuals when they enter a room. It is why a mother knows when her child is safe and why a dog can find its owner miles away.
We are all Children of God/Spirit/Universe/Source, One in the energy or life force that enfolds all things.
Practice; meditate every day to experience your True Self. Remember who you are and that we are all connected through Source. There is no guilt, no sin, no failures in the eyes of Source, only Love. It is only the Love and Light that defines who we are.
Celebrate your being every day and embrace the indisputable truth that Source, itself, is not complete without you.
Now we are doing yoga….
